He reported on drammatically different moments in time, documenting the Ku Klux Klan, but also following the performances of giants of jazz like Wynton Marsalis. With his camera, he travelled to Africa and to Fidel Castro's Cuba. Through his lens, we experience a fragmented history of the United States.Stewart's photos are currently showcased at The Phillips Collection in Washington DC.
