Erik Thor Sandberg (American, b. 1975) is known for his active exploration of flawed humanity through surreal painting, though he has also experimented with printmaking. His narrative works confine the nude to vulnerable situations that leave the viewer feeling unsettled, made all the more uncomfortable by his mastery of realism. His work has been exhibited at the Baltimore Museum of Art, MD; American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Washington, DC; Montserrat College of Art, Beverly, MA; and Baker Museum, Naples, FL.
